Challenge of the Turkmen
Despite having no car, Team Verbiere is in **IRAN**! After spending what seemed years on Turkish buses we made it across the vast country, even stopping for a night in Georgia, to arrive in Iran. So far we've passed through Tabriz and Qazvin and passed along the valley of the assasins where we supped the local cherry juice and danced to the beat of their tambourine, Taka (aka littlejackiechan) impressed the locals with his kungfu dance moves. Now En route to Esfahan, the jewel of persia. The Iranian people have been incredibly hospitable and entertaining, and I only wish we had more time to see this incredible country, and meet more of its wonderful people.
Despite the lack of vehicle we wish to carry on as far as we can, to kazakhstan at least (as onward travel means attempting to travel in russia with an auto-tourism visa, but without said auto and also navigating the mongol steppes without vehicle) **BUT**
There are now some looming doubts as to the possibility of entering Turkmenistan without a car, and even more doubts as to leaving, we will be contacting consulates/embassies in an attempt to correct this and will try to keep the blog up to date.
Until then, khoda hafez, or ciao
