Finish Line!
Beautiful Rock Monastery with giant sleeping buddha and this statue of what the next reincarnation will look like. There were also Hindi gods here, due to a King being a Hindu and marrying a Buddhist woman - great example of mixed faiths living harmoniously.
Beach viewpoint - not a bad place to be!
Navy Monument - you can go right up to the top inside. Stunning views across the area, as well as a series of paintings showing how the British killed lots of people in Sri Lanka. More apologies...
Hoo-amaniya Blowhole - an underwater cave where the pressure gets so high, it blows! Generally soaking anyone nearby...
We found the sea! We're enjoying life tonight at our hotel next to the beach!
Went to Dickwella for the comedy value and found this giant Buddha - not a bad day really...
Elephants at the Elephant Transit Home. So many abandoned elephants being helped and cared for.
Sam and Rob like to go on these relaxing holidays where you keep on the move the whole time...
Brain Tumour Research: Our vision is to find a cure for brain tumours. Brain tumours are indiscriminate; they can affect anyone at any age. What’s more, they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer... yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. We are building a network of experts in sustainable research at dedicated Centres of Excellence whilst influencing the Government and larger cancer charities to invest more nationally. We are the only national charity in the UK that is dedicated to raising funds for continuous and sustainable scientific research into brain tumours and we are a leading voice calling for greater support and action for research into what scientists are calling the last battleground against cancer.
