Bayan Olgii, Mongolia
Successful final border crossing into Western Mongolia! Our welcome into the country? A snowstorm! Only 6 days and 1800 km to go.
Barnaul, Russia
It's true what they say: Siberia is cold but Siberian strippers are hot! Also when it comes to vodka we can't keep up with the Russians.
Karaganda, Kazakhstan
With our convoy of boys again! Celebratory pints turned into vodka shots with random Kazakhs and 3 am road hockey. Tonight: Russia.
Shu, Kazakhstan
Spent the night in a watermelon field. The farmer showed up this am and tried to help us repair our fuze box then gave us a melon for the road. His helper gave us his number. We are now the proud owners of boys' numbers from Georgia to KZ...potential husbands abound in Central Asia!
Korday, Kazakhstan
Balaklava-clad Kazakh soldiers beat back the crowd and we finally got our car into Kazakhstan. Most intense border crossing so far.
Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
Great night out in Bishkek! Going shopping at an old Soviet favorite then heading to Kazakhstan...for which we have no map. We may not make it to Russia simply by following our instincts!!
Andijan, Uzbekistan
Stranded in Andijon for the night - with no beer! - after failing to find the border crossing. Great tour of silk factory in Margilan though!
Samarkand, Uzbekistan
Slow start due to nasty case of food poisoning. Headed to Tashkent tonight. We're going to Fergana valley & hoping there's gas!
Bukhara Province, Uzbekistan
It's 45 degrees today and we are waiting in line of rally cars at mechanic in Bukhara hoping to get our exhaust fixed.
Can't get enough of the 'Stans and excited about seeing how far a lipstick smile and a little Russian will help us cross borders. Vodka may also change hands in the process.
I love road trips and am hard at work creating a 10,000 mile long playlist.

We have various fundraising events planned between now and July 2011 and we've chosen several worthwhile charities to receive our contributions. To us, this brings new meaing to "sustainable travel". </font></font> </p>
