we limped over the finish line last night after a tough final day drive. Final list of problems with the car: rear brake light and front lights broken; no headgasket; fan broken; wingmirrors both broken; rear axle broken; back suspension broken; hole in fuel tank; hole in fuel line; crack in windscreen; roof rack broken off; radio broken; loose handbreak; heater broken. Delighted/ecstastic/surprised we made it though!
Bayanhongor, Mongolia
after 2 days of rally driving, the 2nd car of our convoy of 3 has broken down after a failed river crossing at night. We have decided to set up camp instead of attempting the crossing. Mo will hopefully swim across in the morning. Only 500km to go.

just arrived, now looking for a hotel. Had a great time in bukhara. Staying here for 2 nights, then up to tashkent.
Gümüşhane, Turkey
spent day driving along the northern coast, stopping for a quick swim. Drove through picturesque mountains and decided to stop here, at a hotel in town, for the night. Still undecided whether we can/should drive all the way to iran tomorrow.
