Tom drove us out of Johdpur on the morning of day 2 and we were soon on a desert track. With hardly anyone on it, it was secret speed bumps and hidden potholes we had to look out for. We stopped for lunch in a palace where we were served a bizarre mix of western and Indian food followed by a bulgar wheat dessert. All very strange but very funny. It was then up to the Jain temple, where we saw monkeys and huge bees nests and the most amazing carved building. From there we went up into the mountains (I stalled the rickshaw on a huge hill and we had to roll it all the way back down to a flat bit to start it again). We stopped to take a photo a little while on but got mobbed by monkeys (I say mobbed, they just starting running over and we all panicked and made a running jump into the rickshaw!). Suddenly it started raining so we pulled over to take our bags off the roof only to see a man fall off his motorbike and slide down the hill ahead of us. After checking he was ok (just a grated phone luckily), we carried on through the beautiful landscape surrounded by beautiful wells with strings of terracotta pots reaching deep down inside them. Tom drove us into Udipur where we found our amazing hotel and had drinks and dinner on the rooftop looking out over the city.
