Iran Updates
No text messages in Iran so here's a bit about how we've been getting on: Iran has been totally amazing. Their hospitality puts every other country to shame. The first night we camped a random guy brought us cakes, the second night a load of guys on motorbike invited us to their beach club (which I think turned out to be an underground gay scene but they was still really nice!) and the night before last we got invited around to a family's house where they served us dinner and breakfast. The guy in the internet cafe also just gave me a free coke! I think it's the nicest place I've ever been. The scenery is great too - a mixture of desert and rock landscapes, lush green forest and coastal beaches. It's a bit more plain away from the coast but Mashad, the city we're in, is lovely. We've also been swimming/floating in a salt lake and bathing in hot springs in Iran. Absolutely no sign of trouble - we were pulled over for speeding once and ended up having our photo taken with the police!
We'll leave Iran tomorrow but might not make it into Turkmenistan until Friday (camping in no-mans land sounds fun!). We'll hopefully be back to regular twittering then.
