due to the reroute that cost us a few days we have decided to go along east coast instead of west. Left the rickshaws and caught overnight train to see the Taj Mahal. Head back to Varanasi tonight and set off again from there. Still in convoy outnumbered by Kiwis.

Rerouted to India early due to fuel shortage in nepal. stinking hot day followed by disgusting hotel in gorakhpur on night 2. Day 3 was 46C but great day driving and found fantastic hotel with pool in the holy hindu city of virinasi on the Ganges. Cheating by catching train to Taj tomorrow.

39 days, 8400 miles & we have arrived in ulanbataar! Stacy limped in both leaf springs scraping on the ground but she did us proud, We made it! Hoorah!

200k took 10 hrs. Both back springs broken, drive shaft too short to reach axle so removed it & now front wheel drive only in 4x4 mode. Just 400k to go!

Made Mongolia but making very slow progress. At mechanics now with pierced fuel tank and busted suspension. Hoping to be welded and on road tonight.

woke up to leaking rear brake. Locals fixed. 200k later snapped rear suspension. Limped 300k to find welder. Stayed with & fed by his family. So hospitable!
