Rickshaw Run - day 6

At 9 am we hit the highway for an early start. Unfortunately we hit it in the wrong direction. Somehow we managed to take a wrong turn and ended up near the coast in Revdanda. Cool little village. The hard part was the one hour drive back to the main highway on a rough and narrow road. By 11 am we had only managed to get south by 20 km.

The rickshaws seem to be running smooth. The new piston seems to have broken in nicely. We managed to keep our muffler bolts intact all day - a new record. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

We covered some really interesting territory today. Lots of elevation gains and drops in very lush country. Kinda reminded me of driving through British Columbia mountain passes. Except for India's lack of shoulders and sadistic truck drivers. In retrospect, it was exactly like driving through British Columbia mountain passes.

We pulled in to Chiplun at about 6 pm just before dark. Perfect timing. We seem to be catching up with many of the other teams. Like us, many have the plan to get to Goa by tomorrow for a day or two of well earned rest. Hopefully we can make the 300 km in one day. Cross your fingers for us.

Time to sign-off. It's 8:30 pm here so time for a Kingfisher beer!
