Pimp My Ambulance

Morning l'equipe  Ambulance is safely down here and with a nice new window fitted into the drivers side. Makes a massive difference as we managed to fit the big window I bought (1.45m) and means that the guy in the back looking forward has an epic view!! Not with a near disaster though. Prepared the panel, measured up everything and took the saw to the panel - pretty scary. Finally had a massive hole in the side of the van - all pretty weird! Came to fit the window and we'd made the hole 10cm too big!! Was nearly sick on the spot. Freaked out. Can't believe we screwed up the measurements by 10cm! Anyway, luckily Guy is also a welder and we got back to work welding back a bit of the panel - and luckily welding actually makes the joint stronger than before. Bit of a setback but slowly got back on track. Painted back over the new joint in white and finally fitted the window. Had to tell you now that the job is finished and looking good and don't worry, it's solid as anything. But I've got to say I was SERIOUSLY worried at the sight of the window not taking up the whole hole... Hoping to fit another small window on the same side but in the panel just behind the driver's seat maybe next week.
