shillong to guwahati

First day of the run started out at noon-- lots of adrenaline, excitement, aprehension.  I think there are around 74 (?) rickshaws in the run; we took off from Shillong and shortly after it began to POUR rain.  The route from Shillong to Guwahati is windy with hills, mostly downhill.   The highway is about the width of 1.5 US lanes.

We have arrived and are soon departing

Hello,  quick update... don't have much time so we will probably have to wait until we get back to upload photos and video.

Day 1 in Delhi= an incredible stench, a bomb, an earthquake.

Day 2 flew Delhi to Guwahati, 5 hr taxi to Shillong.  A mold covered hotel room awaited us.

day 3 shillong-  met our 3 wheeled pet rickshaw and pimped it proper

learned to drive the rickshaw-  have to remember that traffic runs the opposite direction than in the USA/France

day 4 shillong-  picked up more supplies from mechanics around town, a new very loud horn, etc.

tomorrow we depart around noon- later than we would have liked, but there is an "opening ceremony" as all 70 rickshaws begin their trek out of Shillong.... sure to be exciting and yes-- i will be honest-- scary also

alright we'll keep the interesting stories for when I have a better internet connection.

ta-ta until then!
