We have heard a lot of rumours about this 15 km tunnel filled with water and no lights, and had decided to go the longer route over the mountain instead. Unfortunately upon arrival the road was closed because of snow, so it had to be the tunnel or going back to Turkmenistan. We got some workers to towe both cars through. Just to put you all at ease, the tunnel was that bad, and it collapsed last year. Oh, and water was coming down through the roof. @

Finally managed to escape very sweet family after the dad had downed half bottle of vodka at 6 am. Very excited about being on the road again to then find out that the only bridge going towards Dushambe was closed until 7 pm... Another day lost we camped with some bikers overnight. Next morning very excited about being on the road again, only to find a piece of string and to guards saying we cant go anywhere yet... Yey!

Just entered Tajikistan, and got invited to have tea with a really lovely family. As we wanted to leave for Dushambe today, we found it very difficult to leave as they served us food and vodka. We now have to stay the night. Hopefully - the wife was talking about wanting us here for 4 more nights. To be continued.....

Had trouble at the border as one of the boys had something wrong with his visa. Been told that we have to in back to Iran, which we can't. So we got stuck for a couple of hours until they gave in and let him through by paying 70 USD extra...Big drinking session in Ashgabad tonight as we met 3 other teams as well. Wicked!
