6 Ways To Help Five Crew Canoe

So we're all agreed, Amy, Brad, Dave, Jordan and Kiavash are the most awesome people doing the most awesome thing in the world. That is to say 'packing into a clown car and driving a third the way around the globe whilst raising scratch for charity .' So right now you're probably asking yourself:

### I Want To Help. How Can I Help?!? 

Lucky for you, we've got options for you. Here they are in a handy little list:

#### 1) The Ignition Party

Friends of Five Crew Canoe are invited to come spend some time with the team on June 1st at the Bronson Centre. You have to get in touch with one of [the team](mailto:[email protected] "[email protected]") to get further details, but I promise it will be worth it, even (especially?) if Dave ends up singing. The party is cleverly designed to make a bunch of cash for our [charities](index.php?mode=teamwebsites&name=five-crew-canoe&page=charities "Charity!"), but we need you to attend.

#### 2)  The 2012 UEFA Euro Cup 50/50 Pool

It's just like a 50/50 draw, but instead of a random draw for the winner, you get to choose which set of strangly dressed men can move a ball around with their feet the best. Fun! Send [Brad](mailto:[email protected] "Bradley") and email to get your bracket and instrucitons on how to join. 

#### 3) The Great Glebe Garage Sale

Some of our favorite people have donated stuff for us to sell at the annual garage-sale gone 'gong-show' known as the Great Glebe Garage sale. It's like a carnival mixed with an Ikea, if Ikea was run by independantly wealthy hipsters. Look for us on First Ave between Bank and O'Connor, we'll be the drunk ones practically giving stuff away.

#### 4) Donate To Our Charities

Straight up donations, get your tax goodies and your warm fuzzies at the same time. #### 5) Corporate Sponsorships

We're in the process of creating the design for our [vehcile](index.php?mode=teamwebsites&name=five-crew-canoe&page=vehicle "Vroom"). If you want to see your company logo splashed all over it, or you know a company that would, let us know. We expect this thing to make a few news reels when it's all prettied up.

If you've read this far, you're pretty dedicated. Turn that dedication into some petrol, camping gear, bribe money or any host of things that will get the Crew to Mongolia. The Plan

Some of our friends have been asking us for some details about what, exactly, we plan to do this summer. The good people at the adventurists have provided a handy 3-step guide for our trip, here it is:

 

We have slightly modified this plan to fit our current needs. Note that we already had plenty of friends:

Step 2: Strap a canoe to the roof 

Step 3: Drive/paddle to Mongolia Seems simple enough. Right. Recently we just packaged up our passports and some visa applications for The Visa Machine to get us the goods we need to cross some borders on the way. We sent it along with every last penny we owned, but don't worry, I found a crumpled up American five dollar bill that I will try to exchange for a bag of onions to feed myself. Unfortunately, (probably due to the price of oil and the poor Canadian Dollar) that five dollars won't stretch us as far a a vehicle, our next major hurdle. If anybody knows where we can find a microvan with an engine size of around a litre, let us know. New Logo and Website

 

The Five Crew Canoe, made up of Canucks from coast to... Eastern Ontario, are getting organized. We now proudly run one website with one fine looking logo. We are even more proud to be raising funds for two killer charities. The [Lotus Children's Centre](http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserPage.action?userUrl=five-crew-canoe&pageUrl=3&isTeam=true "Lotus Children's Centre") has been working hard for years to ensure that some of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia's neediest families recive the basics. Likewise, here in Ottawa, [Cornerstone Housing for Women](http://www.canadahelps.org/GivingPages/GivingPage.aspx?gpID=17102) has been providing emergency shelter and supportive housing for Women in need. We can't wait to get started.

We'd like to thank some of the people at [Thought Out Loud](http://www.thoughtoutloud.org) for their initial support in our bid for Mongolia. Hopefully with their help we can raise enough cash to fund some of the [more costly parts](index.php?mode=teamwebsites&name=five-crew-canoe&page=sponsor_us "Sponsor Us") of our trip.
