Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Unfortunately our little car did not make it all the way to UB, but did get to Altai. In the end the Gobi defeated us. Huge thanks to the Last Rat and Spanish guys who helped us so much, including an epic tow! Now in Ulaanbaatar, which is pretty grim. Paddy and James fly home tomorrow, Will continues his adventures. It has been an amazing experience, so proud to have got so far, but disappointed not to have finished.

Bayan Olgii, Mongolia

we are in Mongolia! Terrible Russian side to the border, really officious and not open on Sundays, so 5 or so teams camped out for the night together. The border still took all of Monday, and we were very lucky the Mongolian side were friendly and got 3 teams through. Mongolia is beautiful, snow capped mountains and endless smaller hills, as well as a good range of wildlife, birds of prey and bison! We camped high up in the mountains last night, and are now on our way! So excited we're here!

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

For any teams behind us the the border at Osh is open. Lots of police checks in Uzbekistan near the border, but not too much bother. Spent a day and a half in Kyrgyzstan. Once in the mountains it was absolutely incredible scenery. 3000 meters up, we could see snow covered peaks and lots of nomadic people living in yurts!

Samarkand, Uzbekistan

we have spent a night and morning in Samarkand, absolutely incredible city with stunning mosques and medrassas. Now to Osh via Tashkent and into kyrgyrzstan. Can't wait for the mountains after the desert. Car is holding up well so far, as are we! Thinking of people at home, but spirits are high in team Angry spider!! @
