We've made it to Kochi! Dippy may have been slow, but she was determined. In a VERY plush art deco hotel. celebrated with beers and cocktail. Tomorrow we shall cross the finish line in hippy fancy dress then take the boat to the party. Yippee!

Saw mongoose and 7 other runners. been hot, sticky and sweaty all day, big difference from the dry heat of the desert where we started and driving in the morning with woolly hat, fleece and jacket. KOCHI tomorrow???

240km today. eagles soaring around our hotel in centre of city. Saw 2 crashed trucks and nearly had 2 head on collisions- overtaking truck when coach decided to overtake cows! G&T in 5* hotel.

Stopped by Police for 3rd time, not to offer cup of tea as before (we are no longer gods) but to see our documents. We smugly handed them over only to be told our pollution certificate is out of date which means 600 rupee £6 fine in Goa. Fortunately as we had just crossed the border, so he waved us on. We smiled, waved and said nameste a lot!

got up at 5.30 to leave at 6 only to find sunrise was at 7! For first time we went in wrong direction-twice! On switchback roads in hills 2 HGVs were on their sides! Dippy ran well until lunch then slowed again. Tweaked things ourselves and saw a mechanic-50p! If we do same km as today for rest of Run, we'll miss end party by a day!

totally nutty traffic around Mumbai resulting in pumped left arm from clutch control. Slums and water buffalo. 3hrs in mechanics after Dippy lost power - lack of oil- could've been catastrophic! Wonderful people in Pen, 2 offers of rooms for the night and dinner. 6am start tomorrow to make up time!
