The Waiting Game

Alrighty, visas are mostly back (still waiting on a pesky Uzbek visa), bags are packed and feet are itchy and ready to roll.

Two years of planning, of endless paper work and early morning viber conversations all reach their culmination this Saturday as two thirds of Don't Worry, I Know A Shortcut depart Auckland, New Zealand on their way to ol' Blighty.

Hiccups...

Alright chaps and chapettes...our beloved Rascal van is no longer...it died a tragic death and now we looked forward to traversing in the equally unsuitable Nissan 200ZX - more suited to the set of Fast & Furious than the utterly shit backroads of Kazakhstan.

Second set back, Iran...Iran you annoy me. I want to visit your country. I want to meet your people, see your sights and sample your culinary delights but you make it so hard. Being on a British passport means I must book and pay for a guide (USD1000) for 3 nights...just to make sure I don't peek into your nuclear facilities. A shame, now we must go through Azerbaijan and cross the mighty Caspian Sea.

On a side note, we have our Turkmen transit visas and our Uzbekistan visas!
