Day 22

A few hundred kms up the very good Russian roads brought us to Barnaul, and a very welcome hotel stop after 5 days on the road. After chilling in our rooms we had a huge meal and some beers before hitting the town. Apparently the only place to go was a club called Chaplins....so a little apprehensive we queued up for our first taste of a Russian nightclub....and it ws a brilliant night!! every now and again the dancefloor is cleared and various acts come on - including a fire eater and a body builder! Needless to say, heads are a bit sore today and our 8am start hasn't quite materialised. We're pushing to the Mongolian border today, ready to cross tomorrow....

Days 11- 13

**Day 11**

Drove from Seman To Quchan in Iran.

**Day 12**

Drove from Quchan to the Turkmen border. 3 hours of paperwork and a few bribes and we were into Turkmenistan.  We decided to try and meet up with the other ralliers so drove through the night from Ashgabat to Turkmenbat.  We arrived at about 4am and had 3 hours sleep!

**Day 13**

A bit of a disaster! We arrived at the Uzbekistan border with our friends only to find that our visa does not start until tomorrow.  So as I write we are stuck in no mans land in our car for a day waiting for tomorrow.  Nice......
