Team The People's Democratic Movement Of Adventurists

Its officially over, I am back in britannia.

Well all you followers of my African qdventure. It has officially drawn to a close. I flew into heathrow airport at 10:10 friday am. This was down to lack of funds and lack of any oppertunities in Cameroon. I tried finding something out there but to no avail, then i ran out of cash, so was forced to take a flight homeward bound. Its been a hell of an adventure, i met alot of very very cool people along the way, saw alot of awesome things and drove a good 10000 miles (nearly exactly) across Europe and Africa. Thank you for all your support and interest and knw that the charity fund could do with some more of your spondoolix. See you as soon as i get back to dorset... maybe in a week.

Finished

Ok..... i finished on the 16th but then i went to the beached and bodyborded for a while. Cest la vie. The aussies have flown home, si flies tonight then as of tommorow im on my lonesome in a strange country with nothing particularly to do. I have a week to find some sort of adventture... it will be fine. Thanks to all my wellwishers...the car made it and very well. Only a broken rear window and dirty carb to worry about, so no real problems. Missing England a little, but in love with travelling.... so see you when i do.

Bertoua

We honly have 800km to go to Douala. Not far at all now before we finish the rally... missing the party by a clear month. Very exciting of course. THe car is still going strong as am i. Looks like maybe 2 more days driving. Cant wait to get there and sort things out. Then hit the beach... then get some kind of job here.

Garouer. Northern Cameroon. More mechanics.

In garouer now. Maybe another 5 days to go on some fairly awefull roads.... and i badly need to get an extension of my visa. Got some leads on charities to work for out here until i bugger off to Uganda. (Which remindsme i really should emailsomeone about that) Things are getting close to the finish and aftrer ANOTHER trip to the garage for the van were nearly set to hit the road again. Just waiting around for western union. Nearly at douala.Only about 1313 km to go*update*THe vanbs engine has gone again... same valve as before. So more lechanics still. YAY. Gunna go swimming soon, theres a pool here which is nice.. but i badly need to hit the road.

ACTUAL post....were in Cameroon

Finaly we hit cameroon. The other car is off getting fixed and i need to sort out importing the cars properly. Very exciting. The roads from here are aweefull apparently.... we may even take the train. Its all good. Very exciting.

Visas run out soon aswell.... but i should be able to get an extention i hope. Offroading on the roads.... falling trucks.... mudslides.... alll things we have to look forward to. Ideally it should take no ,ore than ANOTHER 5 days but weve been warned it may ttake 2 weeks. EEP!

hello to everyone bqck home.... i hope you enjoyed your summers.

lqast post.... nigeria

Were gunna hit cameroon today. or tommorow. probably tommorow. Nigeria is filled with nice people and a couple of weirdo police... but no9thing majorly bad. THe other car got fixed then broke again... but its being fixed as i type. they dont know where i actually... i must head off soon. Still alive and still gunna get to cameroon... just gunna be a few weeks later than everyone else.

Niger today, nigeria tommorow

Its beeen a while i know... but there literally hasent been any internet since ouagga till now and its still only dialup. The desert scoursers are having more car issues and we have missed the car auction... were looking at another 10 days of driving.... i cant see it being any less. Things are getting tricky... the roads are awefull and the micra has developed a stalling issue at low speeds. Ahh well... just need to rev it more is all. Little tip for anyone doing this next year... buy niger visas in parakou DONT drive all the way to the border, the guards CANNOT be bribed to give you a stamp. Nigeria tomorrow hopefully.

Ouagau without a window

Only just got out of bamako. Only made it to ouagadougou today after the easiest border crossing EVER! Unfortunetly simon my new co driver crashed my car into the desert scousers and smashed my back window so now its wood. Fool. All else is well but we are looking at arriving in Kribi long after the party has finished, long after the sale of the cars and long after the representatives of the adventurists leave cameroon altogether. Maybe another 2 weeks driving as we are forced to go really slowly with a combination of the van and crap roads. So early september. We will get there though, but i am debating wether or not to let simon drive again...

bamako again

yeah im still in bamako... what you gunna do about it? Some big issues with teamates getting ill but it will be sorted soon i hope. Were now looking at hitting caameroon some time in early september. Shud be alright. Must dash now, this was only a quickie... im gunna try and find a canoe tommoro to go fishing!

Still in Bamako

We are officially bringing up the rear. Myself and the desert scousers, due to technical dificultiers, stupid locals and a whole load of lazing about are still in Mali. The super novas are splitting up with one or two flying home and one or two jumping in my car. Decisions have to be made. And the despêrados are flying back to london due to a severe lack of car.

Its been an interesting few days, we have been grifted, i had my camera stolen (sorry guys no pitcures from me at all) and otheres have had monesy stolen and an mp3 player. Its about time we got out of this city and hit the road, which should happen soon... hopefully.

Looking forward to a steak tonight thoug, but overall.. bring on ouagadougou!
