From Russia With No Love. Sad to say it but Russia sucks. So much that we pulled an all nighter and drove 27 hrs straight to get out sooner (plus no would give us a hotel room despite vacancies!).@

All a bit 'weathered' from 4 nights of camping in Kazakh wilderness but now in reach of Mongol border in the beautiful Altai region, showered and ready for Mongolia where the fun really starts! Ps Happy belated birthday Ffion, sorry missed it! Love Jamie Xx

After many scrapes with kazakh police we are in Almaty! Can see gorgeous mountains which border China. Therapeutic few beers last night and off to camp by mountain lake tonight. Lovely! @

Only a days drive away from Baghdad which is weird.

HOT FUZZ! Busted by Iranian police for speeding...doh! Otherwise Irans amazing.
Zonguldak, Turkey
Had a bump with lorry the other day, low speed at lights. although Suzuki Swift completely unscathed. Bulgarian Lorry 0 - Suzuki Swift 1! Officially made it to Asia yesterday as we made it past Istanbul and headed back to Black Sea. Seem to be getting lost in beautiful mountain roads regularly. Turkey is beautiful and chaos....the mayhem of Asia has begun! Trying to push through the mountains to get in striking distance to Iranian border for thursday.

Dracula Country! Last night had all the makings of a horror story. Travellers lost deep in the forest looking for shelter. As we were deep in Count Dracula's stomping ground we decided to sleep on top of a mountain instead. Succeeded in not getting blown off, just. 2000 miles done and now we're heading for the sea. Car 'individualities' - No dash lights (night driving by glow stick), iffy fifth gear, dodgy Windows. Could be a long drive. J B

Would like to tell you all that we're suffering terribly and its awful but I can't. Had a swim in our hotel pool this morning before getting the cars fired up to head through the Transfagarasan apparently the most beautiful road in the world (Jeremy Clarkson so may be a load of bollocks). Don't worry, there's plenty of suffering heading our way. Kazahk desert can hit 45oc this time of year. Great.
