yes, we have draged ourselves away from the Irish pubs in London. On the way out(London, not the pub) we realized why some cars have extra low gears, clutch and first gear is all you can use on the inner ringroad. We eventually made it to the ferry, only 15 minutes late (we still got on). A night of french hospitality refreshed us for the first test at real speed for the mighty Clio. Europe has shrunk, shrank, been shrinking or something, because the next evening we arrived in Switzerland. Our rally car moved that fast, we were even overtaking trucks, slow cars and other things with wheels. We had some major issue with the V8Turbo sticker, it nearly came off. It must have been the high speed.
On the ground here , we found a new challenge. To once and for all settle the great question: Which is the faster bike, a 1963 Solex (around 45cc,front wheel drive) or the famous Ciao 50cc (blue, ca 1968).A suitable dragstrip has been found but the media will not be allowed to attend due to legal or illegal issues. Both machines are being worked on,as they have not seen the light of day or night for decades. The dust has settled(mostly in the carbies) from the first dust off and we are ready for test drives. Fasten your undies, here we go....
