18th, crossed through the Russian border today, had a good couple of days in Semey with Gary, Kev , Henry, Hugh, Blaise and Hector heading to Barnaul tonight, then going to have a chilled day at the hot springs tomorrow! Only one border crossing left and then we're in Mongolia, woop woop x

15th August, After a good couple of days, now left Almaty, getting to Semey tomorrow, camped out atm at the side of the road, sitting by a fire, pretty chilled :) Henry and I repping the full Russian tracksuits! Alex x@

11th August. After a 5 hour border crossing from Uzbekistan, now on our way to Almaty, camping somewhere tonight, aiming to get there tomorrow afternoon. Pulled over twice for 'speeding'. Picked up a present from a local brewer...and bought a massive melon...all good fun. Alex x

Just left Bukhara, picked up a really nice 19 year old Uzbek guy from our hotel called Mirjon, now on our way to Samarqand! He's coming along as he hasn't really travelled in Uzbekistan and wants to learn English...and help with translation issues! Any teams going to Bukhara stay in the Grand Hotel..good breakfast :) (and also a whole load of cats and kittens if your soft like me) x

After a nice evening in Nucus, now on the road to Bukhara! Any teams behind us should watch out for the 150km of road works, massive potholes, deep sand and mud..BE WARNED!! Saxo just got stuck in the sand, luckily we've got a ford ranger with us to pull us out...also, for all those who bought an AA towe rope, ask for your money back...(ours snapped even doubled up)...more updates to come x

Staying at a Hotel in Moynak, police have just arrived (for no apparent reason)...Pastas just been put on, bit of Jamie Oliver sauce to go with it! Seeing some beached ships tomorrow, Aral Sea...dessication = boring..learn that at Sheffield! Night Night :) x@

After a pretty smooth border crossing, a near miss and a race with a local (we won), currently on the way to Moynaq to see the Beached ships of the dessicated Aral Sea and some old war memorial x
