passed through Atyrau city yesterday. We got loads of friendly attention, beeping horns and waving. kazak People are really friendly. Now heading south towards uzbekistan border, may hit our first off road section today. We have driven so far we are now seeing camels hanging around on the side of the road. Very cool.

Crossed into our first Stan last night. Pretty good border with georgia doing her thing with more smiles for the guards. Camped out with few other teams in the sand dunes off the road in the middle of nowhere. Few drinks around the fire, brilliant night.

Stayed in Kiev last night with another team. Few beers and laughs about our excesses in the tupperwear department! Trying very hard to leave the city now without much joy. Round and sound we go ...

Our first run in with police for stopping somewhere we shouldn't. Rich sat in their car for ten minutes whilst they asked for bribes. They eventually gave up with a chuckle after rich 'didn't understand'.

after a brilliant party in an old castle in the czech countryside we headed to prague for a pit stop view of the sights.

just a small hop yesterday which may have been just as well, as we struggled to find a campsite by the time the ferry came in.
