Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
2tiddly excited girls&1well abused car almost at the finish line. Suzi's ailments...exhaust welded but falling to bits, all types being checked regularly as likely to go any minute, petrol tank wonder welded twice, sump guard lost in the wilderness of mongolia, petrol filter cracked& completely bypassed, driver side suspension gone&a plugged hole in the gear box...suzi drives on what a legend! gutted its almost over.@
Erdenet, Mongolia
Suzi is sustaining more injuries, the suspension has now gone, which isn't as bad as the number of beers we've smashed due to it. After 22 hours of driving relieved to be on tarmac, ruble tracks were rather painful!
Hentiy, Mongolia
our tyre changing abilities would now rival a formula one pit crew given the number of punctures over the last few days! Keep failing to reach the towns so been days since we last showered! Gonna cross the finish line looking worse than kerry katona after a week long binge in a sandpit!
Uvs, Mongolia
offroading didn't go so well... First few hours (cat driving) were skillfully smooth. Within minutes of em taking over a tyre blew soon followed by a crater sized hole in the fuel tank. Luckily our american chums towed us to town (100s of kms over mountains and through rivers) where we managed to fix her up! Massive drive days now to try and catch up!@
Ölgiy, Mongolia
Another night at the boarder but it was the last one and others had been there much longer so looks like we were lucky, plus plenty of vodka and drag racing to entertain us. Leaving civilisation now to head on the northern route to Ulaan Batar (a week behind schedule) but at least we got one last night of dancing with the locals before camping in the hills!
Barnaul, Russian Federation
Suzi is a little injured again, the exhaust again, cat driving again... Anyone else noticing a trend? Lets hope she lasts till the mongolian boarder only 200miles, fingers crosses we make it before it shuts in a few hours otherwise its more camping in no mans land for the weekend. But dont worry too much we have plently of russian vodka!
Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan
after a couple of big nights out in almaty we've just finished a hardcore 24hr drive to the russian border (thanks boys for driving susie through the night so we could sleep in the back of the ambulance!). Hoping the shortcut we're planning works out!
Almaty Province, Kazakhstan
after two nights in the city and a little worse for wear we're back on the read heading for the russian border. Susie still struggling a bit after a ginger muppet drove her into a kyrg roundabout... Who says boys are better drivers than girls!
Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
finally at the boarder of kyrgyzstan and kazakhstan, bribing our way through as we speak. Travelling around the war wounded country was nowhere near as challenging as getting a broken down ambulance and 4 incapable boys to leave the comfort of a beers at a cushty home stay behind. Lash pants back on for tonight in Almati.
ОшÑÐºÐ°Ñ ÐžÐ±Ð»Ð°ÑÑ‚ÑŒ, Kyrgyzstan
p.s. Border guards were super letchy but we got over it as they let em fire a gun and plied us both with vodka!
